Surah Yusuf
Surah Yusuf is the 12th chapter in the Holy Quran, which has 111 verses. This is in contrast to the majority of the other Surahs, which talk about different laws or different historical happenings, but nearly the whole chapter is devoted to the story of the life of the Prophet Yusuf (AS). This story is referred to as Ahsan al-Qasas, or the most beautiful of stories, by Allah Himself in the Quran.
This Surah was disclosed when Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) was extremely sorrowful, which was referred to as the Year of Grief, and the Surah was a comforting and empowering one. It informs us that we should always remember that even in the darkest well or the deepest prison, Allah has a plan.
