what is Ramadan?

Ramadan Ul Mubarak is the ninth and the most important month of the Islamic year. The Holy Quran revealed in the Holy month of Ramadan. As stated in Surah Al Baqarah Ayat No. 185

“The month of Ramadan (is the month) in which the Qur’an has been sent down as guidance for mankind containing clear signs which lead (to the straight road) and distinguishing (the truth from falsehood)..”

Hadith About Ramadan

Many Hadiths are enlightening the virtues of Ramadan and the virtues of doing any good deed in this month. “Whoever does a good deed in Ramadan will count as 10 good deeds, Whoever performs a Nafil will count as a Farz and Whoever performs a Farz will count as 70 Farz”

Abu Huraira narrated that Allah’s Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him) said: When the month of Ramadan comes, the doors of mercy are opened, and the doors of Hell are locked and the devils are prisoned.  (Sahih Muslim, Book 6, Hadith 2361)

“Whoever spends his money on his family in this month is like he spends his money in the way of Allah”.Muslims are a nation who always support their brothers and sisters in every difficult time. Zakat which is a part of Islam in which the wealthy Muslims help the needy ones is also performs this month. A Hadith related to it is here:

The Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H) said: He who gives food for a fasting person to break his fast, he will receive the same reward as him, except that nothing will be reduced from the fasting person’s reward.” [Ahmad, at-Tirmidhee, Ibn Maajah, Ibn Hibbaan, Saheeh].
