Surah Ad Dukhan

Surah Dukhan is the 44th chapter of the Holy Quran, and it consists of 59 verses. It is among the Ha-Mim Surahs, and it was revealed in Makkah when the opposition to the Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) was extremely intense. The name Dukhan means ‘The Smoke’, meaning something apparent, and a test that Allah sent to the people who denied the truth.

This Surah is a very strong reminder of the mercy contained in the revelation of the Quran and what would happen to people who mock or are indifferent towards the signs of Allah.

The Tree of Zaqqum: Surah Dukhan gives a clear and chilling account of what the sinners will eat in the afterlife, and how it will be safe and serene to the righteous.

The Purpose of Creation: Allah says that He did not make the heavens and the earth in vain or to play; all the creation is created with the truth and to a given term.
